KEM Hospital Mumbai Doctors Protest: Resident doctors at Mumbai’s KEM Hospital staged a silent protest on Saturday, October 25, 2025, wearing black ribbons to condemn the brutal killing of a female doctor in Satara. The tragic incident has sparked outrage among the medical community, with doctors calling for swift justice and stricter safety measures.
Dr. Sameer, a resident doctor, described the Satara incident as a “heinous act” and urged authorities to arrest the culprits immediately. “We’re holding a black ribbon protest to show our anger and demand action. Our OPD and emergency services are running as usual, but if our demands aren’t met, we may escalate our protest,” he said.

Dr. Samya, a first-year resident, highlighted the need for stricter enforcement of the Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013. “The law exists, but it’s not being implemented properly, which is why such incidents happen. We want quick action to ensure justice is served. Right now, our protest is about raising awareness, and all services are operational. But if our demands are ignored, we’ll take stronger steps,” she added.
