Shimla: Himachal CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has instructed the education department to promptly decide a dress code for teachers, uniforms for students and a separate, distinct colour scheme for the buildings of CBSE schools.
Chairing a meeting of the education department, the Chief Minister said the dress code for teachers in CBSE schools would be implemented from October 1 this year. He also discussed the necessary procedures with officials to finalise the logo of state government-run CBSE schools.
To ensure discipline and punctuality, attendance will be recorded three times a day in these schools, he said. The Chief Minister noted that the state government is making continuous efforts to provide quality education to students in rural areas through CBSE schools.
He added that education in state-run CBSE schools would be offered at affordable rates, while it remains relatively expensive in private CBSE schools.
Sukhu said the state government has already appointed teachers in these schools. In future, any vacant teaching posts arising for any reason will be filled on priority so that students’ studies are not affected due to staff shortage. He directed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements in this regard.
Advocate General Anup Rattan, Secretary Education Rakesh Kanwar, Director School Education Ashish Kohli and other senior officers were present at the meeting.
