New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has shared a major update for students eagerly awaiting the opening of the re-evaluation portal. The board has officially activated the portal, allowing students dissatisfied with their Class 12 results to apply for a review of their answer sheets.
Soon after the launch, several students complained that their screens were freezing even after entering all the correct login credentials. However, the board issued an update confirming that all technical glitches have been resolved, and students can now navigate the portal smoothly.
The CBSE follows a strict, mandatory three-stage rule for this process. A student cannot directly request a re-evaluation of their answer sheet without completing the prior steps sequentially.
Stage 1: Verification of Mark
In this initial step, CBSE officials re-open the answer script to verify if there were any totaling errors. No answers are re-evaluated or re-checked at this stage. Students must pay a fee of ₹500 per subject for this verification.
Stage 2: Obtaining a Photocopy of the Answer Script
If a student’s marks do not increase after the verification stage and they still suspect discrepancies, they can apply to obtain a photocopy of their evaluated answer script. The fee for this stage is ₹700 per subject.
Stage 3: Re-evaluation of Specific Questions
This is the final stage of the process. If a student reviews their photocopy and finds that a specific answer was not evaluated or was marked incorrectly, they can challenge that particular question. The entire answer sheet is not re-checked; instead, students must specify the question numbers in the online form. A fee of ₹100 per question is applicable for this stage.
