Hill View Public School, Majra, located in the Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh, organized a comprehensive series of educational and cultural programs to mark the occasions of Baisakhi, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti, and Himachal Day. The event was designed to sensitize students toward national history, regional culture, and the contributions of iconic personalities.

The proceedings commenced with an introductory session hosted by Sana and Priyanshi, students of Class 7. The duo managed the stage operations with professional confidence, ensuring a seamless transition between the various segments of the day’s agenda.

A significant portion of the event was dedicated to Jallianwala Bagh Memorial Day. Himani and Mahima from Class 9 delivered a detailed briefing on the 1919 massacre, reminding the assembly of the unarmed Indians who lost their lives to colonial violence in Amritsar. The gathering observed a moment of silence to pay homage to the martyrs.

In celebration of Himachal Day, Siya and Himanshi of Class 7, along with students from Class 8, shared insights into the state’s rich cultural tapestry. Their presentations highlighted the unique traditions, heritage, and natural geography that define Himachal Pradesh.

The cultural segment featured a traditional Nati dance performed by students of Classes 9 and 10, showcasing the essence of Himachali folk culture. This was followed by a high-energy Bhangra performance by Class 5 students to celebrate the harvest festival of Baisakhi.

Academic engagement continued through poster-making and slogan-writing competitions conducted under the guidance of class teachers. Students from Classes 5 to 10 participated, focusing on themes of social messaging, national integration, and the philosophy of great Indian leaders.

School Principal Ashu Sharma addressed the assembly, emphasizing the life and struggles of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. She specifically highlighted his pivotal role in drafting the Indian Constitution and encouraged students to adopt his values of equality and persistence in their own lives.

The entire program was coordinated under the supervision of teacher Neetu Singh. School Director Poonam Goyal and Academic Director Ajay Sharma expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the staff and students, noting that such events are essential for fostering a sense of patriotism and cultural identity.
