DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh cricket fans face disappointment as the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series between India Women’s A and Australia Women’s A has been relocated from Dharamshala to Mohali due to rain concerns. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took the decision following a formal request from the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA).

The three 50-over fixtures were originally scheduled to take place at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on September 20, 23, and 25. However, with heavy precipitation forecasted for the final week of September, the state association approached the central board to alter the venue to avoid potential washouts or reduced-overs contests.

The HPCA cited the interest of both players and spectators in seeking the shift, reasoning that persistent bad weather could ruin the limited-overs series. Consequently, all three ODIs will now be hosted at the IS Bindra Cricket Stadium in Mohali.

Despite the shift in the ODI schedule, the four-day match between the two sides will proceed in Dharamshala as planned from September 29 to October 2. Officials noted that multi-day games offer greater flexibility, allowing play to be completed over the remaining days even if rain interrupts a portion of the match.

Confirming the development, HPCA Secretary Manuj Sharma said that the association had requested the BCCI to move the ODI series keeping local weather conditions in mind. He confirmed that the board accepted the proposal to transfer the white-ball games to Mohali while retaining the red-ball fixture at Dharamshala.
