MUMBAI: In a high-security, 16-hour operation spanning three states, Mumbai Police transported three suspects accused of firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car from Kota in Rajasthan to Mumbai. The nearly 900-km journey involved route changes, vehicle swaps, and intense security measures.

The three accused have been identified as Hritik Kumar alias Roshan (22) from Bihar, and Rehan (18) and Phool Singh (18) from Haryana. They were arrested aboard the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express at Kota railway station on Monday morning, a day after the shooting incident in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Officials said the suspects were allegedly planning to flee to Nepal before being apprehended by Kota Police and handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch.

Three Cars, Multiple Vehicle Transfers
The police convoy departed from Kota around 10.30 am on Tuesday with two private vehicles: a white Innova Crysta and a silver-metallic Innova Crysta.

Initially, the suspects were seated in the white Innova, while police personnel traveled in the silver vehicle. At around 6.45 pm near Bharuch in Gujarat, the convoy halted, and the suspects were transferred to the silver Innova. The two vehicles then split speeds on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway; the white Innova slowed down to below 40 km/h, while the silver Innova moved at speeds of 130–140 km/h.

Around 9.30 pm, a third Maharashtra-registered silver Innova Crysta carrying plainclothes personnel joined the convoy. Later, around 10.10 pm, the vehicles regrouped at a petrol pump in Valsad, Gujarat. The convoy crossed Vapi and entered Maharashtra at approximately 10.50 pm.

According to sources in the Mumbai Police Crime Branch, the suspects were transferred between vehicles at least four times during the journey while officers questioned them. The convoy finally reached Mumbai around 2.30 am, after which the accused were taken to a hospital for a medical examination.

How the Attack Unfolded
The shooting occurred around 7 pm on Sunday while the 36-year-old actor, son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, was returning after playing football in Juhu. Shroff was seated in the front passenger seat of his BMW when two men opened fire at the vehicle. Video footage that emerged after the incident showed the assailants firing at least seven rounds.

While Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt, his driver and a nearby autorickshaw driver sustained injuries. Immediately after the attack, Shroff stepped out of the vehicle and personally drove his injured driver to a hospital.

The two shooters joined a third accomplice on a motorcycle and fled the scene. The motorcycle used in the crime was later found abandoned in Andheri.

Planned Escape to Nepal
Investigators revealed that after the shooting, the trio fled to Surat and boarded a Jaipur-bound train. They allegedly planned to travel to Delhi by bus and subsequently cross over into Nepal. However, their escape attempt was thwarted following their arrest at Kota railway station.

The attack has been claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Further investigation into the shooting and the suspects’ gang links is currently underway by the Mumbai Police.
