The INDIA bloc, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, officially launched their election manifesto called ‘Tejashwi Pratigya Pran’ in Patna, ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results due on November 14.
The event was attended by key leaders, including RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, Congress’s Pawan Khera, and CPI(ML) Liberation’s Dipankar Bhattacharya. Tejashwi Yadav is the bloc’s chief ministerial candidate, while Mukesh Sahani from the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) is the deputy chief ministerial candidate.
The opposition alliance aims to end Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s four-term rule, but internal competition remains for several seats, weakening their campaign. According to the alliance agreement, the RJD will contest 143 seats, Congress 61, VIP 15, several Left parties 33, and one seat by the Indian Inclusive Party. Despite minor seat conflicts, Tejashwi assures that the alliance is united.
The key promises in the manifesto include creating jobs for youth, increasing welfare pensions for widows, senior citizens, and people with disabilities, providing free electricity up to 200 units, and overall development plans to make Bihar a leading state. They offer a vision of change after 20 years of NDA rule, pledging rapid progress and addressing public aspirations.
On Mahagathbandhan releasing its manifesto for the #BiharElection2025, Congress leader Pawan Khera says, “The manifesto is historic. It has been prepared after careful deliberations. Our leaders, Mallikarjun Kharge, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Rahul Gandhi, instructed us to declare only what we can achieve… We held discussions with various sections of society and then the manifesto was prepared.”
Congress leader Pawan Khera says, “…Tejashwi Yadav is the CM face of our alliance. We have announced that after winning the elections, he will become the CM. Those raising questions don’t have the guts to announce Nitish Kumar as the CM face of the NDA…”

Mahagathbandhan CM candidate and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav says, “We have seen that, for the first time in Bihar, 1,500 companies of central forces are being deployed. We also know what instructions were given two or three days ago. I would like to humbly say to all those officers who have taken an oath to the Constitution: do not carry out anyone’s wrongful orders, do not act dictatorially, do not be dishonest, and do not steal votes. This time, the people of Bihar, all of us in the Mahagathbandhan, are vigilant. The people will not allow their policy of deceit and dictatorship to succeed. They will protect their votes and will not tolerate dishonesty. Therefore, we humbly request all officers to work honestly and without bias. The people of Bihar are desperate and eager for a change of power. They have been waiting for this opportunity. Now, on the 6th and the 11th, they will have that chance and this time, the people of Bihar will not miss it…”
