Om Gunjal Kota University: Taking a tough stand against harassment on campus, the University administration has cancelled the PhD registration of former councillor Om Gunjal with immediate effect. The decision, which came into force on April 1, follows serious allegations of stalking and intimidation leveled by a woman professor against the former neta.

The University management confirmed that the action was taken following direct instructions from the Director.

Banned from campus; Police security sought
The crackdown doesn’t end with the cancellation of his degree. The administration has slapped a total ban on Gunjal’s entry into the university premises. Keeping the safety of the woman professor in mind, the university authorities have also written to the City SP, formally requesting police protection on campus to prevent any untoward incident.

According to the complaint, the accused would often land up at her flat in an inebriated state and try to force his way inside.

The professor further claimed that Gunjal would repeatedly ring her doorbell to terrify her and had even issued death threats.

  • March 30: She submitted a written statement to the University Director, making it clear that she no longer wished to supervise Gunjal’s PhD.
