Shimla LSD Trafficking Case: Himachal Pradesh police have arrested a partner of a hotel in Kullu district in connection with the high-profile LSD trafficking case registered in Shimla.
The accused, identified as Sanjeev Kumar, a partner in Sea Rock Hotel, has been booked for destroying evidence and involvement in criminal conspiracy. Police said the arrest was made on May 16, 2026.
The case was registered on March 10, 2026, at New Shimla police station as FIR No. 35/2026 under Sections 22 and 29 of the NDPS Act and Section 238 of the BNS.
During initial action, police recovered 562 strips (stamp size) of LSD weighing 11.570 grams – classified as commercial quantity -from Sandeep Sharma, a resident of Moga in Punjab, and Priya Sharma from Sirmaur district.
Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh said backward linkage investigation identified the supplier as Naviel Harrison from Calicut in Kerala. Harrison was arrested from Gurugram in Haryana on March 13, 2026.
Further probe revealed the suspected involvement of four personnel from the Special Task Force (STF). They were arrested on March 19, 2026, after analysis of digital, physical, and technical evidence.
Investigation showed that the four STF personnel had received the LSD consignment from Naviel Harrison at the Sea Rock Hotel in Kullu. To verify facts, police seized the hotel’s hard disk and DVR and sent them for forensic examination.
Forensic analysis revealed that CCTV footage had been deleted in an attempt to destroy evidence. Police found that hotel partner Sanjeev Kumar conspired with others to destroy evidence related to the case.
Kumar was arrested on May 16 based on digital evidence, forensic reports, and other material.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and further links in the network are being probed. The Shimla police have reiterated their “zero tolerance” policy against narcotic drugs and vowed strict action.
Shimla Police arrested two individuals with a substantial quantity of LSD drugs during a raid in New Shimla in March. One of the accused is a woman. Acting on a tip-off about LSD trafficking in the area, a police team raided a house in the BCS locality and apprehended the duo from a room in Him Niwas.
The arrested persons have been identified as Priya Sharma, a resident of Dadahu in Sirmour district, and Sandeep Sharma from Dharmkot in Moga, Punjab. Police recovered 11.57 grams of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) from their possession, along with 562 stamp-sized strips. The seized contraband is valued at approximately Rs 1 crore.
LSD is commonly used at rave parties. The psychedelic drug directly affects the brain and nervous system, causing hallucinations. Users often experience distorted perception of colours, sounds, and time. Its effects typically begin within an hour of consumption and peak between two to four hours. The case is under further investigation.
