iPhone 17 Pro Max price India working days: A new report tracking global affordability has sent shockwaves through Indian tech enthusiasts, revealing that an average individual in India would need to log approximately 160 working days to purchase the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max.
This staggering figure stands in stark contrast to several developed nations. The disparity highlights the gap in purchasing power, high import costs, and average income levels across different regions.
According to the report, Switzerland and Luxembourg top the chart as the most affordable markets for Apple’s upcoming flagship. Citizens in these countries need to work for just 3 days to buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max, thanks to high average incomes, stable pricing, and low import duties.
The purchasing power remains exceptionally strong in countries like the United States, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, and the Netherlands. In these regions, residents require only 4 days of labor to afford the premium device.
Similarly, an individual needs to spend around 5 days’ worth of earnings in Canada, Germany, Finland, Australia, Ireland, and Austria to take the flagship phone home.
Explaining the situation in India, the report points out that the country’s average income remains lower compared to developed economies. As a result, an Indian buyer needs to put in about 160 working days—equivalent to nearly 8 months of a standard five-day workweek—to buy the same model.
Other European and Asian nations fall somewhere in the middle. The working days required stand at 6 days for France and Sweden, 7 days for New Zealand and the UK, and 8 days for Singapore, Italy, and the UAE. Residents in Spain need 9 days, while those in the Czech Republic and Poland require 12 and 17 days, respectively.
The required effort increases to 24 days in Portugal, 27 days in Hungary, 45 days in Malaysia, and 61 days in Thailand. While these figures indicate lower purchasing power than Western Europe, they still outperform India.
Even in countries with longer affordability timelines, the numbers remain lower than India’s. For instance, buying the iPhone 17 Pro Max takes 32 days of work in Chile, 77 days in Brazil, 89 days in Turkey, 99 days in Vietnam, and 101 days in the Philippines.
