Vivo V80 Launched in India: Vivo has officially expanded its mid-premium lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo V80. The latest V-Series offering places a heavy emphasis on photography, battery endurance, display quality, and video creation. Highlighted by a massive 7200mAh battery – the largest ever fitted into a Vivo V-Series smartphone – the device is aimed directly at power users, content creators, and mobile gamers.
Price and Availability in India
The Vivo V80 has been launched in three storage configurations. The base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is priced at Rs 62,999. The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model comes at Rs 69,999, while the top-tier 8GB RAM + 512GB storage version is tagged at Rs 79,999.
Official sales for the smartphone will commence on October 13. Consumers will be able to purchase the device online via Vivo’s official website, Amazon, and Flipkart, as well as through authorized offline retail stores across the country.
Battery Life and Fast Charging
Addressing heavy usage demands, the Vivo V80 packs a 7200mAh battery supported by 90W FlashCharge technology. According to test data shared by the company, the device delivers up to 39.5 hours of continuous local video playback and up to 14 hours of non-stop navigation on a single charge. The high-capacity battery caters specifically to users engaged in extended video recording, gaming, social media browsing, and on-device photo or video editing.
50MP ZEISS Camera Setup and Video Capabilities
For optics, the smartphone features a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera equipped with a Sony IMX882 sensor, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), 3X optical zoom, and up to 100X digital zoom. The rear camera cluster also incorporates a 50MP ZEISS main camera with OIS alongside a ZEISS Ultra-Wide lens. On the front, the phone houses a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie Camera featuring a 92-degree field of view and autofocus.
Video creators get access to a 4K Cinematic Video feature that includes three distinct cinematic styles: Modern Movie, Vibrant, and Pastel. The device supports 4K video recording at 60fps, 10X Zoom-In Portrait capabilities, and multiple ZEISS Portrait Modes across various focal lengths.
Display, Performance, and Software
The Vivo V80 sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display featuring a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a local peak brightness of up to 5000 nits. The 144Hz refresh rate capability is available across select supported applications. Under the hood, the device is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
It marks the first V-Series smartphone in India to ship with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, with the company promising six years of security updates. The software suite integrates over 30 AI creative tools, including AI Creative Camera, AI Retouch, Color Palette, and a limited-time AI Diwali Portrait 2.0 feature. Additionally, the phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
