SHIMLA: State BJP President Dr. Rajiv Bindal on Thursday announced that paper leak cases will now be tried in fast-track courts to ensure swift action and strict punishment for the culprits. He emphasized that those jeopardizing the future of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances.
Addressing a press conference in Shimla, Dr. Bindal launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing the opposition party of breaching democratic norms. He stated that instead of holding constructive discussions in Parliament, the Congress has chosen the path of confrontation on the streets.
Questioning the opposition’s actions, the BJP leader asked why there was a need to march towards the Prime Minister’s residence, besiege the BJP headquarters, and create an atmosphere of tension, noting that such tactics do not constitute valid democratic protest.
Dr. Bindal asserted that the Central Government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of young people. He recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clear stance that anyone playing with the future of the youth will face stern consequences. The decision to direct fast-track court hearings for paper leak cases, with necessary instructions already issued to concerned departments and officials, is a step in that direction, he added.
Highlighting the government’s response to paper leaks, the BJP state chief noted that the Centre previously handed over investigations to the CBI, arrested the accused, conducted re-examinations, and introduced technological upgrades to secure the examination system. He described the fast-track court setup as the next logical step to ensure timely justice in matters directly affecting students.
Criticizing the opposition’s conduct, Dr. Bindal remarked that if the Congress were genuinely concerned about students’ welfare, it would have debated the matter in Parliament, offered suggestions, and helped find solutions. Instead, he alleged, the party opted for chaos, protests, and political posturing.
He reiterated that constitutional forums like Parliament and state assemblies exist specifically for raising such issues and urged the Congress to clarify why it is politicizing matters concerning the future of the youth.
