Shimla: Authorities in Himachal Pradesh have directed LPG distributors to notify officials and consumers at least two days before delivering cylinders at designated focal points, aiming to improve transparency and public awareness.
The directive was issued on Tuesday by Kumud Singh, Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, during a meeting of the State Level Monitoring Committee.
Under the new instructions, gas agencies must inform district controllers, inspectors, and panchayat representatives in advance of scheduled deliveries. The information will then be circulated to consumers through newspapers and other communication channels to ensure timely updates.
Singh said the state currently has 191 gas agencies in operation. She added that Himachal Pradesh is receiving about 60 per cent of its usual allocation of commercial LPG cylinders, but assured that supply to commercial establishments remains sufficient.
