Vijay highlighted that Ajith Kumar, hailing from a humble background, died in custody, prompting an apology and financial aid from CM Stalin. Ajith Kumar Custodial Death: CBI Probe Under Fire
Vijay criticized the transfer of Ajith Kumar’s case to the CBI, recalling Stalin’s past claim that such a move was a “shame” to Tamil Nadu Police during the Sathankulam case. He accused the CM of hiding behind the Union Government, alleging the CBI’s links to BJP and RSS. “Why rely on a CBI you once criticized?” he asked.
Demand for Court-Monitored Probe
The TVK chief demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT), monitored by the courts, to investigate Ajith Kumar’s death and other custodial cases. He stressed that only an independent probe could ensure fairness and rebuild public trust. Vijay’s remarks reflect growing concerns over police brutality in Tamil Nadu.
