Cupertino, July 10, 2025 —Apple Inc. has appointed longtime insider Sabih Khan as its new chief operating officer, succeeding Jeff Williams in a move that marks a carefully orchestrated leadership transition.

Khan, who has spent 30 years with the company and currently serves as senior vice president of operations, will assume his new role later this month, according to a statement from the iPhone maker.

Before joining Apple’s procurement group in 1995, Khan held positions as an applications development engineer and key account technical leader at GE Plastics. His extensive experience within Apple has been instrumental in delivering the company’s innovative products to market, making him a natural choice for the COO position.
