On July 29, 2025, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Rajya Sabha, celebrating the success of “Operation Sindoor,” a decisive joint mission by the Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police that eliminated three terrorists responsible for the horrific April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 innocent lives in Jammu & Kashmir’s summer capital region.
“Our forces have shown unmatched valor. What we say, we do,” Singh declared, commending the operation that targeted the mastermind and his two accomplices in the dense forests near Srinagar. Forensic analysis confirmed the recovered weapons were used in the Pahalgam massacre, cementing the mission’s precision.
The Pahalgam attack, executed in the scenic Baesaran Valley, shook the nation with its brutality. Singh emphasized that India’s security forces remain unwavering in safeguarding both internal and external security, earning praise for their relentless pursuit of justice.
In a bold statement, Singh predicted a future where Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), a region under Pakistani control since 1947, integrates with India’s democratic system. “A day will come when PoK’s people proudly say, ‘I am India,’” he asserted, igniting nationalistic fervor in the House.
Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, provided further details on the operation, dubbed “Operation Mahadev” in parallel discussions. He revealed that the neutralised terrorists—Lashkar-e-Taiba’s A-category commander Suleman, along with Afghan and Jibran—were directly linked to the Pahalgam and Ganderbal attacks. “Our agencies have concrete evidence of their involvement,” Shah said.
Shah recounted the swift response, noting that after the April 22 attack at 1 PM, he reached Srinagar by 5:30 PM and convened a security meeting on April 23 to ensure the perpetrators couldn’t flee. “I salute our forces for ensuring justice,” Shah told the Lok Sabha, representing the nation’s gratitude.
The operation’s success has bolstered public confidence in India’s security apparatus, though challenges remain with ongoing tensions in PoK and potential trade tariff risks highlighted by global reports
