Himachal Teacher Transfer News: The Himachal Pradesh Education Department is witnessing a significant surge in transfer requests following the commencement of the new academic session. Despite a government-imposed ban on general transfers, Education Minister Rohit Thakur has received over 700 DO notes within a few days. These requests involve teachers from TGT, PGT, and JBT cadres seeking placements in preferred locations.
Current reports indicate that approximately 500 transfer files have been forwarded to the Chief Minister’s Office for final consideration. The remaining applications are undergoing departmental scrutiny. The Secretariat in Shimla is currently seeing heavy movement of MLAs and political leaders advocating for these administrative adjustments.
The state government maintains a policy against mid-session transfers to ensure that classroom instruction remains undisturbed. Education Minister Rohit Thakur has clarified that transfers will only be entertained under exceptional circumstances. This includes cases involving critical health issues, urgent family matters, or specific administrative requirements.
Despite the restrictive policy, the Directorate of School Education has issued several orders over the last 72 hours. Approximately 200 teachers have been transferred during this period. Many applicants are currently attempting to categorize their requests under “special circumstances” to bypass the existing ban.
In a significant move for SMC teachers, the government has provided relief to those who cleared the Limited Direct Recruitment (LDR) examination. Instead of being relocated, these teachers will receive regular appointments at their current stations. This decision aims to maintain staffing stability and minimize disruption for students.
In related administrative updates, the Personnel Department has promoted two officers to the rank of Under Secretary. Pawan Kumar has been appointed as Under Secretary in the Education Department, while C. Lal has been assigned to the Law Department. Additionally, Pramila Sharma will now handle the additional charge of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
