Commercial LPG Price Today India: Commercial LPG cylinder prices remained unchanged on Thursday across major Indian cities after oil marketing companies (OMCs) hiked rates significantly at the beginning of May. Domestic gas prices stayed stable in all key urban centers, according to latest data from Indian Oil Corporation.
The revised commercial LPG rates took effect from May 1. OMCs increased the price of 19kg commercial cylinders by a sharp Rs 993 for use in hotels, restaurants and other businesses. This marks the third consecutive monthly rise in commercial LPG costs this year.
Domestic LPG Prices Stable Across Top Cities
Indian Oil confirmed domestic 14.2kg cylinder prices remain near Rs 913 in Delhi, Rs 912.50 in Mumbai, Rs 939 in Kolkata and Rs 928.50 in Chennai. The petroleum ministry stated approximately 33 crore domestic LPG consumers face no price change.
Business Today reported Indian Oil earlier said “no change has been made in prices of major fuels affecting the general public.” The ministry emphasized efforts continue to ensure uninterrupted household gas supply despite geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Commercial LPG rates are revised monthly on the first day based on international gas prices and foreign exchange fluctuations. Domestic cylinder prices are determined separately through government policy mechanisms. This latest hike follows previous increases in March and April.

Commercial Prices Jumped Sharply Since March
Publicly available pricing data shows Delhi’s 19kg commercial cylinder cost Rs 1,884.50 in March, rose to Rs 2,078.50 in April and surged to Rs 3,071.50 in May. Mumbai now pays Rs 3,024, Kolkata Rs 3,202 and Chennai Rs 3,237 for the same commercial size.
This rapid monthly escalation reflects broader global energy market volatility. The March-to-May increase totals Rs 1,187 per cylinder, representing a 63 percent rise in just two months for commercial users across India.
Government Assures Supply Stability Amid West Asia Crisis
The petroleum ministry stated on Wednesday that India is making “all possible efforts” to maintain uninterrupted LPG, crude oil and natural gas supplies despite ongoing crisis in West Asia. Joint Secretary (Marketing and Oil Refinery) Sujata Sharma addressed an inter-ministerial briefing.
Sharma confirmed imports of LPG, crude oil and natural gas have been affected by the West Asia situation. However, the government ensures 100 percent supply continuity for domestic LPG consumers nationwide. Commercial supply availability stands at 70 percent of normal levels.
Officials warned against panic buying at petrol pumps. Authorities are maintaining stable fuel availability across the country through coordinated monitoring and distribution measures. The ministry emphasized no shortage exists for cooking fuel.
Recent Sales Data Shows Steady Demand
Over the past two days, approximately 15,900 tonnes of commercial LPG were sold nationwide. Public sector OMCs also sold 876 tonnes of auto LPG during the same period. These figures indicate steady commercial demand despite price pressures.
As part of efforts to improve cooking fuel availability, more than 1,20,000 five-kilogram cylinders were sold in the last two days. This reflects active distribution networks reaching small households and rural consumers regularly.
The government continues monitoring international energy markets closely. Domestic consumers remain insulated from global volatility through subsidized pricing structures while commercial users bear full market rates adjusted monthly.
