Bhooth Bangla Box Office collection: Actor Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Priyadarshan have reunited after over a decade for the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. Following its theatrical release on April 17, the film has generated significant interest, leading to a strong commercial opening.
According to data from trade tracker Sacnilk, Bhooth Bangla recorded a net domestic collection of Rs 12.25 crore on its opening day. When accounting for the Rs 3.5 crore earned from paid preview screenings held on the evening of April 16, the film’s total domestic net collection reached Rs 15.75 crore.
The film’s gross domestic collection stands at approximately Rs 18.90 crore. On a global scale, the production has amassed Rs 23.90 crore, signaling a positive start for the collaboration between Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav.
Nationwide, the film was screened across 12,386 shows on Friday. Occupancy rates reflected growing audience engagement throughout the day; the morning shows recorded 10.77 percent occupancy, which climbed to 19.15 percent by the afternoon and reached 31.46 percent during night screenings.
Regional performance data highlights that the Delhi-NCR circuit hosted the highest number of screenings with 1,202 shows, recording a 21 percent occupancy rate. Meanwhile, Mumbai recorded a 25 percent occupancy across 889 shows.
When measured against other films in the horror-comedy genre, Bhooth Bangla has demonstrated a competitive trajectory. By combining its paid preview figures with its opening day net, the film has surpassed the opening day record of Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which stood at Rs 14.11 crore.
However, industry analysts note the performance remains distinct from the benchmarks set by other recent genre entries. While Bhooth Bangla has achieved a solid start, it falls behind the record-breaking opening of Stree 2, which collected Rs 51.8 crore on its first day.
In the context of Akshay Kumar’s recent filmography, the opening is considered mixed. For comparison, his recent courtroom drama Jolly LLB 3 debuted at Rs 12.5 crore, while Housefull 5 secured an opening of approximately Rs 24 crore.
