OPPO Launches Reno14 Series in India: OPPO has recently launched its new Reno14 series in India, introducing two smartphones: the OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G and the Reno14 5G. These phones are designed for users who want no compromise on premium and attractive design, along with a top-notch camera experience. They also cater to those who want to use their phones all day without worrying about carrying a power bank.
The Reno14 series comes with AI-powered cameras that offer optical image stabilization, 4K 60fps HDR video recording, and a host of other AI features. If you’re a travel enthusiast, these phones are like a fantastic gift for you, making your journeys even more memorable.
Reno14 Series Design and Display First Impressions
Let’s start with the OPPO Reno14 5G, which features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio and adaptive brightness for eye protection. The OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G, on the other hand, comes with a larger 6.83-inch ultra-thin AMOLED panel with a 93.6% screen-to-body ratio. Both phones boast a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals.
The series uses a recycled aerospace-grade aluminium frame, with sponge bionic cushioning and OPPO Velvet Glass for a premium finish, available in the white variant. This is the first time such a design has been seen in a phone. Notably, both devices have IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, so you don’t need to worry about their durability. The camera bump on the back panel has been made notably thinner this time.
Reno14 Series Colour Options and Build Quality
The OPPO Reno14 5G is available in Pearl White and Forest Green colours, while the OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G comes in Pearl White and Titanium Grey. Both phones feature anti-fingerprint glass, so you won’t see smudges on the body. This is the first phone in the industry to use a Luminous Loop for a bold and reflective look, though it’s only available with the green variant.
The back panel uses a single glass design, which improves grip and enhances the overall look. The OPPO Reno14 5G weighs 187 grams and is 7.42mm thin, making it a slim and lightweight option. The OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G in white weighs 201 grams and is 7.58mm thin, while the Titanium Grey variant is 7.48mm thin.
Reno14 Series Camera Capabilities
Both phones in the Reno14 series come with AI cameras. The OPPO Reno14 5G features a triple camera setup with a 50MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP telephoto lens (3.5x zoom), and a 50MP selfie camera. The Reno series has always been known for its innovative AI features.
This new series introduces features like AI Recompose and updates to AI Flash Photography, AI Livephoto 2.0, AI Perfect Shot, and Best Face. These features ensure great photos even in poor conditions. The 3.5x telephoto lossless zoom is a boon for portrait photography, allowing you to capture distant subjects with clarity, something usually requiring close-up shots.
Both phones support 4K HDR videography at 60fps, with the telephoto lens on the Reno14 enabling impressive vlogging capabilities from your pocket-sized device. The Reno14 Pro 5G has three rear cameras: a 50MP lens with 3.5x zoom and optical image stabilization (OIS), another 50MP lens with OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens with a 116-degree field of view and autofocus. The front camera is also 50MP with autofocus. All the AI features from the Reno14 are available here, along with 120X AI zoom.
You can record 4K HDR videos at 60fps with all lenses, including the front camera, making this phone your ideal travel companion. The front camera also features an AI Vlog Voice Enhancer, which reduces noise in crowded areas, ensuring clear video recording.
Reno14 Series Processor and Performance
The OPPO Reno14 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350, offering 20% better performance and 30% less power consumption compared to its predecessors. The Reno14 Pro 5G features the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 processor, which provides 41% better performance and 44% less power consumption. Notably, the Reno14 Pro 5G is the first phone in India to launch with the Dimensity 8450 processor.
Whether it’s heavy gaming, long video recording sessions, or multitasking, your phone will handle it all smoothly. The hands-on experience shows no lag, even with multiple tabs open, and apps load quickly. Both phones come with a nano dual-drive cooling system with a vapour chamber and aerospace graphite, keeping the device cool under any condition. Features like AI HyperBoost 2.0 and LinkBoost 3.0 ensure better gaming and robust connectivity.
The operating system is Android 15-based ColorOS 15.0.2, with the Trinity Engine managing CPU and GPU efficiently. The phones will receive three ColorOS updates and four years of security updates. The Reno14 series also supports Gemini, which works with Notes and Calendar.
Reno14 Series Battery and Charging
The OPPO Reno14 5G has a 6000mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOCTM charging, guaranteeing 12.8 hours of calling, 13.1 hours of music playback, and 6.5 hours of video playback with just 10 minutes of charging. So, if you’re heading to a party and your phone is low on battery, it’ll be ready before you are.
