SRINAGAR : Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan conducted a comprehensive review of the Chinar Corps’ operational preparedness during a high-level visit to strategically sensitive sectors in north Kashmir on Saturday. The visit focused on assessing security postures along the Line of Control (LoC) and outlining the transition toward modernized warfare.
During his assessment at Baramulla, General Chauhan was briefed on the integration of advanced technologies into current military operations. The briefing detailed future force applications designed to address evolving security challenges in the region. The CDS commended the formation for maintaining high standards of professionalism and doctrinal coherence in a complex operational environment.
Transition to Multi-Domain Operations
In an address to the officers of the Chinar Corps, General Chauhan emphasized the shifting paradigm of global conflict. He asserted that the Indian Army must transition from traditional, domain-centric strategies to Multi-Domain Operations (MDO).
According to the CDS, modern decisive outcomes depend on the seamless integration of six critical spheres:
- Land and Air
- Maritime
- Cyber and Space
- Cognitive Domains
Integration and Jointness
A central theme of the review was the institutionalization of “jointness” among the armed forces. General Chauhan called for intensified coordination through synchronized training programs and the development of harmonized doctrines. He noted that interoperable command-and-control structures are no longer optional but essential for ensuring effective responses across all theaters of war.
The CDS urged the forces to prioritize technological adaptation and cognitive resilience to counter emerging threats. He maintained that future readiness rests on a foundation of innovation, strategic foresight, and a “whole-of-nation” approach to national security.
Civil-Military Synergy
Beyond tactical reviews, the CDS engaged with representatives of the civil administration and local stakeholders in Baramulla. These discussions focused on ongoing nation-building initiatives and the collaborative efforts required to maintain stability in the region.
General Chauhan concluded his visit by reiterating the necessity of operational excellence, encouraging all ranks to remain prepared for the full spectrum of future conflicts.
