Heavy rainfall has been lashing Himachal Pradesh since late last night, significantly disrupting daily life. Today, cloudbursts in Mandi district have triggered intense downpours, leading to sudden floods. This disaster has claimed the lives of over 90 people so far, with 129 others reported injured. Many residents have been displaced from their homes, and hundreds have been sheltered in various relief camps.

The situation has deteriorated rapidly following recent cloudbursts and flash floods. Let’s take a look at the areas in Himachal Pradesh that have been hardest hit. In Thunag, Mandi, a community kitchen has been set up to provide food to those affected by the cloudbursts and floods, with efforts underway to offer various forms of assistance. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has warned that the monsoon fury continues across Himachal Pradesh.

Intermittent rain has been falling across the state, including Shimla, since last night. Dhaula Kuan in Sirmaur recorded the highest rainfall at 168 mm, while Bilaspur saw 120 mm in the last 24 hours. The department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in most parts of the state.
