Indo-Pacific energy meeting: The United States will hold a key energy meeting in Tokyo next month. This event aims to improve energy security across the Indo-Pacific region.
The U.S. embassy in Tokyo made the announcement on Sunday. President Donald Trump’s National Energy Dominance Council will organize the first-ever Indo-Pacific Energy Security Ministerial and Business Forum. It will take place on March 14 and 15.
Top U.S. officials will lead the American team. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum will attend. He serves as chairman of the council. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright will also join. He is the vice-chairman. Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lee Zeldin will travel too.
These leaders will meet with government officials from almost a dozen Indo-Pacific countries. Business executives from different fields will come as well. They include people from energy, infrastructure, industry, and finance sectors.
The forum will focus on talks about energy security. It brings together governments and companies to build better partnerships in the region.
In related news, last October, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi spoke with President Trump. She said banning imports of Russian liquefied natural gas would be hard for Japan.
This upcoming meeting shows the U.S. push for stronger energy links in the Indo-Pacific area.
