Narsinghpur IAS Officer slapping Video: A video from Madhya Pradesh’s Narsinghpur district has gone viral, landing a senior bureaucrat in serious trouble. The footage shows the District Panchayat CEO, Gajendra Nagesh, slapping a young man and allegedly threatening a priest during a dispute on the banks of the Narmada river.
The incident occurred on Saturday when the officer was inspecting a cleanliness drive at the Barman sand ghat. Officials say he became enraged upon seeing a youth urinating in the open near the riverbank.
Altercation Escalates, Priest Alleges Abuse
According to the priest present at the site, Kailash Chandra Mishra, the situation quickly escalated. After reprimanding the youth, the officer allegedly turned on him, using abusive language and threatening to “bury him in the sand.”
Mishra claims he was also forced to do sit-ups as punishment. He stated that the officer’s actions hurt his religious sentiments, as he was there to conduct a prayer ceremony.

Formal Complaint Filed, Community Demands Action
On Monday, the priest formally submitted a complaint to the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police. The incident has caused anger within the local priest and Brahmin community, who are now demanding strict action against the CEO.
The youth involved has reportedly not filed a written police complaint yet. He explained that he had gone to relieve himself behind the bank when the officer arrived and lost his temper. Local authorities have acknowledged the complaint, and the matter is now under official review.
