Baddi: Corruption is a major obstacle to the development of society, and every citizen must understand their responsibility to eliminate it. Young people in particular should come forward to bring positive change by adopting honesty and moral values in life.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anil Kumar of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and Security Vigilance Department stated this during a Vigilance Awareness Week program organized at IEC University in Baddi on October 31.

At the event, Vice Chancellor Ashok Puri and Registrar Dr. Prahlad Gupta praised the efforts of the students. They stated that the purpose of education is not just to impart academic knowledge, but also to make students responsible citizens. Such programs conducted at the university remind students of their duties toward society and the nation.

Attending as the chief guest, DSP Anil Kumar administered the oath of integrity to the students and university members. He emphasized that corruption affects not only the administrative system but every section of society. To stop it, adopting transparency, accountability, and honesty in behavior is essential. He urged students to follow ethical values in daily life and act as aware citizens against corruption.

A poster-making competition was also organized for the students during the program. Participants created posters on themes such as eliminating corruption, honesty, transparency, and accountability to convey the message of staying alert.

Additionally, students performed a street play showcasing the harmful effects of corruption. The play delivered the message that every individual’s participation is crucial in the fight against corruption.

The chief guest appreciated the creative activities presented by the students. He noted that such events not only raise awareness among youth about social issues but also develop a sense of responsibility and ethics in them.

At the end of the program, all attendees took a pledge to adopt the values of honesty, transparency, and integrity, and to contribute toward building a corruption-free society.
