Rajasthan Royals youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his remarkable form in the Indian Premier League 2026 by creating history in T20 cricket. The 15-year-old batter achieved the fastest 100 sixes milestone in T20 cricket during Rajasthan Royals’ match against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.
Although Rajasthan Royals suffered a 77-run defeat against Gujarat Titans, Suryavanshi once again emerged as the biggest talking point of the match with his fearless batting and record-breaking performance. The young batter scored a quickfire 36 runs off just 16 balls, smashing three sixes and three boundaries during his aggressive innings.
During this knock, Suryavanshi became the fastest and youngest batter to complete 100 sixes in T20 cricket. He reached the landmark in only 29 T20 innings, setting a new record in the format. Apart from achieving the milestone in the fewest innings, he also broke the record in terms of balls faced. The Rajasthan Royals batter completed his 100 T20 sixes in just 514 deliveries, the fastest ever by any player.
The latest achievement has further strengthened Suryavanshi’s growing reputation as one of the most explosive young batters in world cricket. His aggressive intent was visible from the very beginning of the innings when he smashed Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Siraj for a massive six over long-on on the very first ball he faced. Even though Siraj eventually dismissed him later in the innings, Suryavanshi had already ensured his name entered the record books.
The teenager has also become the batter with the most sixes in the powerplay during a single IPL season. Suryavanshi has now smashed 30 sixes inside the first six overs in IPL 2026, moving ahead of Abhishek Sharma, who had hit 29 powerplay sixes during the 2024 IPL season.
The updated list for most powerplay sixes in an IPL season now features Suryavanshi at the top with 30 sixes in 2026. Abhishek Sharma follows with 29 sixes in 2024 and 27 sixes in 2026. Former Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya, Travis Head and Yashasvi Jaiswal are also part of the elite list with 22 powerplay sixes each in different seasons.
Suryavanshi is also closing in on another major IPL record. He has now smashed 40 sixes in the ongoing IPL 2026 season, making him the second-highest Indian six-hitter in a single IPL edition. Abhishek Sharma currently leads the list with 42 sixes during IPL 2024. Shreyas Iyer, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant are among the other Indian batters featured on the list.
So far this season, Suryavanshi has been Rajasthan Royals’ standout performer with the bat. In 11 innings, he has scored 440 runs at an impressive average of 40.00 and a strike rate of 236.55. His performances include one century and two half-centuries.
In the match, Gujarat Titans posted a massive total of 229 runs for the loss of four wickets after being asked to bat first. Captain Shubman Gill played a brilliant innings of 84 runs off 44 balls, while Sai Sudharsan contributed an important 55-run knock.
Chasing the huge target, Rajasthan Royals failed to build momentum and were bowled out for 152 runs. Despite the defeat, Suryavanshi’s attacking approach and ability to dominate experienced bowlers at such a young age continued to attract widespread attention from cricket experts and fans.
The teenager’s fearless batting style and record-breaking consistency have made him one of the most discussed young players of IPL 2026. His performances are now being closely followed as he continues to deliver remarkable numbers in one of the world’s toughest T20 leagues.
