Bambiha Gang Shooter Arrested in Himachal After Failed Attack on Nalagarh Scrap Trader

Solan: In a swift operation, the Baddi police arrested two suspected hitmen associated with the Bambiha gang within 30 minutes of a botched firing attempt on a scrap trader in Nalagarh on Monday morning.

The incident took place outside the victim’s shop in the industrial belt of Nalagarh. Two masked men riding an unnumbered motorcycle approached the scrap businessman and pointed a pistol at him. However, the trader reacted quickly and evaded the shot, escaping unharmed. The assailants fled the spot immediately after the attack failed.

Superintendent of Police Baddi Vinod Dhiman immediately formed special police teams and put the area on high alert. Using field intelligence and technical evidence, police tracked the suspects toward the Punjab border and intercepted them at a barricade near the Dherowal barrier.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Jaspreet Singh (31), a resident of Kaithal district in Haryana, and Manpreet Singh (20), a resident of Sangrur district in Punjab. Police seized two pistols, 15 live cartridges, and the unnumbered motorcycle used in the crime.

Initial investigation revealed that the attack was linked to gangster Pawan Kaushal Chaudhary of the Bambiha gang. SP Vinod Dhiman inspected the crime scene and instructed officers to carry out a detailed investigation, focusing on interstate gang activities, personal enmity, and extortion angles.

A case has been registered at the Nalagarh police station under Sections 109 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act. The accused will be produced in court on Tuesday, where police will seek their remand to uncover the broader conspiracy.
