HPBOSE 10th Result News: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has declared the Class 10 examination result for 2026. Thousands of students across the state had been waiting for the announcement since the completion of examinations held between March 3 and March 29. This year, a total of 93,564 students appeared for the matriculation examination conducted by the board.

According to the merit list released by the board, Anmol from AVM Senior Secondary School, Pahra in Kangra district secured the first position in the state by scoring 699 marks. The second rank was jointly secured by Roohani Dhiman of Government Senior Secondary School, Rapoh Misran in Una, Purnima Sharma of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Bilaspur, and Abhinav Mehta of Government Senior Secondary School, Rapoh Misran in Una. All three students scored 698 marks.

The third position was shared by Ashvika Sharma of Neelam Public Senior Secondary School, Bihru in Hamirpur and Alisha Thakur of Oxford School, Kotli in Mandi district. Both candidates secured 697 marks in the examination.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu congratulated the toppers and praised the hard work and dedication shown by students. In his message, he stated that the achievement marked the beginning of a bright future for the successful candidates and encouraged them to continue learning with confidence and determination.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also spoke with state topper Anmol over the phone along with the Chief Minister. During the interaction, Anmol said that she studied for five to six hours daily and followed a disciplined routine by waking up at 5 am to study until 7 am. She also shared that her mother is a homemaker and her father is a teacher. Anmol expressed her desire to become a teacher in the future.

Girls once again outperformed boys in the Himachal Pradesh Board Class 10 examination. Out of the 107 students who secured positions in the top 10 merit list, 83 were girls while 24 were boys. The board topper this year was also a female student, continuing the trend of strong performances by girl students in state board examinations.

HPBOSE Chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma stated that the overall result this year has improved compared to the previous session. He said the board introduced several reforms in the examination process, including competency-based and multiple-choice questions. According to the board, 2,384 examination centres were established across the state for conducting the exams smoothly.

The chairman further informed that live monitoring was conducted at examination centres this year to ensure transparency and prevent unfair practices. He added that audio and video surveillance systems would be introduced in examination centres during future board exams. For the evaluation process, 41 assessment centres were set up where nearly 2,900 teachers participated in checking answer sheets.

The merit list released by the board includes students from several districts including Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Solan, Shimla and Sirmaur. Schools from both government and private sectors recorded strong performances in the state-level rankings.

HPBOSE has clarified that Students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply online for re-evaluation or re-checking of answer sheets. The board has fixed May 25, 2026 as the last date for submitting applications. The fee for re-evaluation has been set at ₹1,000 per subject, while students seeking re-checking will have to pay ₹800 per subject.
