Addressing the media after the meeting, Kharge lauded the Indian armed forces for their courageous actions under ‘Operation Sindoor,’ targeting terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. “We take immense pride in our armed forces, who have delivered a befitting response to terror with their bold actions. We salute the courage, determination, and patriotism of our brave soldiers,” he said.
Kharge reiterated the Congress Party’s unwavering support for decisive actions against cross-border terrorism, stating, “Since the day of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian National Congress has stood in solidarity with the armed forces and the government, supporting every decisive step against terrorism.” He emphasized the party’s commitment to the nation’s soldiers, adding, “The Congress stands shoulder to shoulder with our brave jawans, fully supporting their efforts to safeguard the nation’s security, unity, and freedom.”
Rahul Gandhi also praised the forces, saying, “Full support to our security forces. Best wishes to them. Much love to them. Complete support from the Congress party.”
The Congress Working Committee meeting hailed ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a testament to the valour, dedication, and bravery of the security forces in defending India’s security and integrity. Kharge underscored the need for national unity against terrorism emanating from Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, stating, “Our national policy is clear: we stand united against terrorism. Unity at all levels is essential to defend the security and integrity of our great nation.”
Meanwhile, the Congress urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to chair an all-party meeting scheduled for Thursday. Congress MP Jairam Ramesh said, “We want the Prime Minister to be a part of tomorrow’s meeting. Earlier, on April 24, we had repeatedly requested that the PM lead such meetings, as is the norm for all-party discussions.”
