Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh): Heavy stone barricades were placed at the Ghazipur border in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday as part of heightened security measures on the day of the CJP protest (Cockroach Janta Party) at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Police intensified checking of vehicles heading towards the national capital at the border point.

Delhi Police have tightened security arrangements across the entire city, including the South District, with special measures implemented at inter-state and inter-district borders, according to South District DCP Anant Mittal.

“Regarding the protest call issued by the CJP in Delhi, security arrangements have been put in place across the entire city, including the South District. Special security measures have been implemented at inter-state and inter-district borders,” DCP Mittal said.

He stated that checks were being conducted to stop unauthorized elements from entering Delhi and to ensure the day passes peacefully. Around 12 pickets have been set up at various border points, alongside additional pickets and outlying posts within the district. Police were checking to intercept members of organizations calling for the demonstration and counsel them.

Drone and CCTV surveillance were also being utilized to prevent unauthorized gatherings or incidents within the capital. Authorities were continuously making announcements regarding orders issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

At the Ghaziabad border, ACP Suryabali Maurya said security checks were being conducted continuously, taking into account law and order needs as well as the festive season.

“We are being mindful that nobody is inconvenienced during the security checks. About 100 Civil Police, Traffic Police and PSC jawans are deployed here for the checks. We are coordinating with our counterparts in Delhi Police,” ACP Maurya added.

In Delhi, heavy police deployment and media presence were observed at Kerala House near Jantar Mantar, where a few protesters had gathered.

The security measures aim to prevent untoward incidents and avoid a repeat of the July 20 protests. Unlike arrangements during the INDIA bloc demonstration, police teams have been authorized to carry lathis and batons. Officers have also been instructed to avoid verbal confrontations with protesters due to alleged attempts to record and circulate videos portraying police personnel in a negative light.
