UAE Golden Visa Controversy: The buzz around a supposed “lifetime Golden Visa” for Indian citizens in the UAE, priced at a hefty ₹23.30 lakh, has been quashed after Dubai-based visa consultancy Rayad Group publicly apologized for spreading misinformation.

The controversy erupted following reports that suggested Indian and Bangladeshi citizens could secure long-term residency in Dubai for this amount, but the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has firmly denied the existence of any such product.Rayad Group, which had initially touted the scheme as a “golden opportunity” for Indians, admitted in a statement on Wednesday that their earlier claims were misleading, causing confusion among the public and media.

The company took full responsibility, promising more careful and accurate communication moving forward. “We unreservedly apologize for the public confusion caused by recent reports and commentary, and we take full responsibility for ensuring future communications are clear, accurate, and consistent with UAE’s stringent regulatory frameworks,” the statement read.

The ICP, in a decisive response, clarified that there is no such thing as a “lifetime residency visa” in the UAE, and all applications must go through official government channels. The authority dismissed the claims as baseless, stating that no discussions or approvals were sought from UAE officials for such a scheme. They warned that legal action would be taken against any entity attempting to exploit people with false promises, urging applicants to trust only official sources and avoid sharing personal documents or making payments to unofficial entities.

Rayad Group’s managing director, Rayad Kamal Ayub, had earlier described the plan as a lucrative prospect, but the company has now ceased offering any private advisory services related to Golden Visas. The ₹23.30 lakh figure, it turns out, was their service fee, not a government-mandated visa cost. “No guaranteed visa, fixed-price program, or lifetime UAE residency product currently exists, and Rayad Group does not offer, support, participate, or endorse any such arrangement,” the company clarified.

UAE Golden Visa Controversy: Immigration expert called it an attempt to defraud

Immigration expert Prashant Ajmera from Ajmera Law Group labeled the scheme a “scam,” targeting Indians eager to settle abroad, particularly in the UAE. “Such entities exploit the desire of Indians to live in countries like the UAE, knowing there’s a massive market for it,” he said, advising people to always verify official information and consult trusted immigration lawyers.

As the dust settles, this incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks of misinformation in the immigration space, with the ICP’s stance reinforcing the importance of official channels in the UAE’s Golden Visa process.
