Samrat Choudhary to be Bihar CM /PATNA: Bihar is witnessing a historic realignment of power as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samrat Choudhary officially staked his claim to form the next government. Accompanied by senior party leaders, Choudhary reached the Lok Bhavan on Tuesday to submit his claim.
This development follows the resignation of Nitish Kumar earlier in the day. After stepping down from the Chief Minister’s post, Kumar submitted his resignation to the Governor at Lok Bhavan. Shortly after, the BJP legislative party held a high-level meeting where Samrat Choudhary was unanimously elected as their leader, clearing the path for his elevation.
Oath Ceremony and New Responsibilities
Samrat Choudhary, who currently serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, is scheduled to take the oath of office as the Chief Minister tomorrow, April 15, at approximately 11:00 AM.
Expressing his gratitude after being elected as the leader of the legislative party, Choudhary stated that the responsibility is a “sacred opportunity” to serve the people of Bihar. He pledged to work with complete integrity and dedication to fulfill the aspirations of the public under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Educational Background of the CM-Elect
As the state prepares for a new leadership, interest in Samrat Choudhary’s background has surged. According to his election affidavit, Choudhary’s academic credentials include a Pre-Foundation Course (PFC) from Madurai Kamaraj University.
Furthermore, he holds a Doctorate (Doctor of Litt.) degree. His political journey has seen a steady rise within the BJP, culminating in this transition from the second-in-command to the head of the state administration.
A New Chapter for Bihar
The resignation of Nitish Kumar marks the end of his current tenure, paving the way for the BJP to take the lead in the state. In his concluding remarks to the media, Choudhary emphasized that his primary focus would be on development, good governance, and prosperity for Bihar.
“The affection and blessings of the people are my greatest strength,” Choudhary noted, as the state administration begins preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at the Raj Bhavan tomorrow.
