Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 India Squad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday unveiled the 15-member Indian squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be held in England. Veteran batter Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to captain the side, while opener Smriti Mandhana has been appointed as her deputy.

The squad features a strong core of experienced players, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh. The team’s campaign will commence with a high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 14 in Birmingham.

Notable absentees from the squad include all-rounder Amanjot Kaur, who misses out due to an injury. The selection committee has also left out promising batter Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, and spin-bowling all-rounder Sneh Rana for this edition of the marquee event.

The tournament, commencing on June 12, will witness the host nation England taking on Sri Lanka in the opening fixture. The summit clash is set to be played on July 5. India, placed in Group A, will face a stern test alongside cricketing powerhouses Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands. A total of 12 teams, divided into two groups of six, are participating in the tournament.

India will play its league matches across iconic English venues. After starting against Pakistan on June 14 at Edgbaston in Birmingham, the team will travel to Leeds to face the Netherlands on June 17. Subsequent fixtures include a clash against South Africa in Manchester on June 21, followed by a match against Bangladesh on June 25, also in Manchester.

The final group-stage encounter is scheduled against the formidable Australian side on June 28 at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The Women’s T20 World Cup has witnessed nine seasons so far, with Australia dominating the tournament’s history by securing six titles, the most by any team.

The Indian team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will be aiming for a vastly improved performance this time around. After clinching the ODI World Cup trophy last year, the captain will strive to add a T20 world title to the cabinet, particularly following the team’s failure to advance beyond the league stage in the previous 2024 edition.

India Squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (Vice-Captain), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Bharti Fulmali, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (Wicketkeeper), Sree Charani, Yastika Bhatia (Wicketkeeper), Nandini Sharma, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Thakur, Kranti Goud, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav.
