Legendary Climber Nirmal Purja Dies in Broad Peak Avalanche, Final Dream Unfulfilled

Famed Nepali mountaineer Nirmal Purja and several other climbers lost their lives after an avalanche struck Pakistan's 8,051-meter Broad Peak on July 30. Purja was attempting to set a world record by scaling all 14 eight-thousand-meter peaks twice.
