Indian Army Briefs Media on Operation Sindoor, Targets Terror Camps in Pakistan

Indian Army Briefs Media on Operation Sindoor: The Indian Army conducted a press briefing on Wednesday to provide details about ‘Operation Sindoor,’ launched in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Colonel Sofia Qureshi, addressing the media, stated, “Operation Sindoor was initiated to deliver justice to the innocent civilians and their families killed in the Pahalgam terror attack. Nine terrorist camps were targeted and completely destroyed during this operation.”

She further elaborated, “For the past three decades, Pakistan has been building a terrorist infrastructure, including training centers, recruitment hubs, and launch pads, spread across Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir. These targets were selected based on credible intelligence, with utmost care to avoid harm to innocent civilians.”

During the briefing, the Army showcased videos of the camps targeted under Operation Sindoor. Colonel Qureshi highlighted that one of the targets was the Sawai Nala camp in Muzaffarabad, located 30 kilometers from the Line of Control (LoC), which served as a training center for Lashkar-e-Taiba. She noted that the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack had been trained at this camp.

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had informed the media, “The involvement of Pakistan-based terrorists in the Pahalgam attack has been established. Our intelligence agencies, monitoring terrorist activities, indicated potential further attacks on India, making Operation Sindoor necessary to prevent and counter such threats.”
