Singapore: A senior delegation from the Maharashtra government participated in the Tech in Asia Conference held in Singapore. The conference was attended by over 1,500 participants, including enterprise leaders, Artificial Intelligence (AI) builders, technology executives, investors, and innovators.
The Maharashtra delegation included Virendra Singh, Secretary of the state government’s Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Department, and Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO of the Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS). Both officials attended the conference on the invitation of SPH Media, Singapore’s largest omnichannel media network.
Maharashtra’s Focus on AI and Technology
This year’s Tech in Asia Conference was themed “Lead the Enterprise AI Era.” The conference featured discussions on topics such as the practical application of AI, enterprise transformation, and cross-border partnerships for deploying new technologies at scale.
Speaking as an invited speaker, Virendra Singh addressed the growing role of AI and emerging technologies in Maharashtra’s development agenda. He shared insights on the state’s tech ecosystem, the potential for AI-driven growth, and the government’s role in fostering innovation, investment, and technology adoption.
Virendra Singh also highlighted Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s vision and support for strengthening the state’s tech and AI ecosystem and promoting technology-driven development.
Discussions on Policies to Promote Startups
Dr. Shrikant Patil provided information on the state government’s policy initiatives, financial incentives, and ecosystem support programs aimed at promoting startups in Maharashtra.
He described strong government-industry collaboration as essential for building a better startup ecosystem and helping new companies grow.
Exploring Paths for International Collaboration
During the conference, the Maharashtra delegation held discussions with tech companies, investors, entrepreneurs, and enterprise leaders regarding potential collaboration. The talks focused on areas such as AI, enterprise technology, startups, innovation, and digital transformation.
Sudhakar Adapa, Chairman of Ashrayayu Media, the Indian arm of SPH Media, said the presence of senior government officials provided an opportunity to present Maharashtra’s tech and innovation ecosystem on a global platform.
He noted that Maharashtra has a strong foundation in technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. According to Adapa, platforms like Tech in Asia play a crucial role in creating new connections and opportunities for collaboration among government, industry, startups, and investors.
