2027 Hyundai Tucson: Hyundai has globally unveiled the 5th-generation 2027 Tucson, arriving six years after its predecessor. The flagship SUV features a muscular redesign, increased dimensions, enhanced rear-cabin space, advanced tech, and a rugged XRT trim. Engine details remain unconfirmed.

Hyundai has officially taken the wraps off its fifth-generation Tucson globally, six years after launching the previous model in 2020. The South Korean automaker’s flagship SUV debuts with an all-new bold aesthetic, a larger footprint, and a feature-packed, high-tech cabin designed to deliver a segment-leading premium experience.

Muscular and Boxier Design
The fifth-generation Tucson adopts a striking, rugged look based on Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design language. Up front, the SUV gets a slim, full-width LED light bar spanning the nose, sitting directly above a blacked-out grille.

In profile, the Tucson features a boxier, upright stance complemented by prominent squared-off wheel arches. The rear design gets a matching wide light bar stretching across the tailgate with prominent ‘TUCSON’ lettering in the centre, topped off with a large roof spoiler.

Bigger Footprint and Roomier Cabin
Compared to the outgoing version, the new Tucson has grown across all key measurements:

  • Length: 4,700 mm (+60 mm)
  • Width: 1,905 mm (+40 mm)
  • Wheelbase: 2,785 mm (+30 mm)

The extended wheelbase provides secondary benefits inside the vehicle. Rear-seat passengers get significantly improved headroom and legroom. In addition, Hyundai has widened the opening angle of the rear doors from 73 degrees to 83 degrees, making ingress and egress much easier.

Rugged XRT Trim and Powertrains
For off-road enthusiasts, Hyundai has also showcased a tougher XRT trim alongside the standard model. The XRT variant gets a more muscular stance, distinctive off-road styling cues, and enhanced exterior cladding compared to the standard vehicle.

While Hyundai is yet to disclose official powertrain specifications, the SUV is expected to carry forward a mix of conventional petrol, hybrid, and non-hybrid engine options depending on the market.
