Bihar: On July 13, 2025, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced ambitious plans to provide employment to 1 crore people in the state by 2030 under the NDA government. Reflecting on past promises, he highlighted that the NDA had already surpassed its 2020 target of creating 10 lakh government jobs and 10 lakh employment opportunities, achieving a milestone of 50 lakh jobs.
With infrastructure and electricity improving, Choudhary emphasized that Bihar is on track to curb migration and boost local employment.Massive Employment Push for 2025–2030
Choudhary revealed that the NDA’s next term will focus on generating 1 crore jobs and employment opportunities across Bihar. A key initiative includes establishing a skill university named after Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur to equip youth with job-ready skills. “We will identify the needs of every household to ensure no youth is forced to migrate for work,” he said.

Migration Down, Infrastructure Up

The Deputy CM credited Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership for reducing migration from 11% during Lalu Yadav’s era to below 4% today. Improved infrastructure and reliable electricity have made Bihar more self-sufficient, allowing people to stay for local opportunities. However, Choudhary acknowledged that some still leave for better prospects, which he said is a personal choice the government respects.

Tackling Unemployment at the Grassroots

To address unemployment, the NDA plans to conduct household surveys over the next five years to understand why youth migrate and provide tailored employment solutions. “If someone needs a job, we will make arrangements right here in Bihar,” Choudhary assured. This initiative aims to make Bihar a hub for sustainable employment by 2030.

Law and Order Under Control

Addressing concerns about law and order, Choudhary stressed that Bihar enjoys good governance with no organized crime under the NDA’s watch. While acknowledging that isolated incidents like murders due to personal disputes occur, he clarified that such cases are challenging to prevent. “Organized crime will not be tolerated in Bihar,” he affirmed, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining peace.
