Semicon 2.0: Govt Targets 200 Chip Design Startups, 1 Lakh Skilled Technicians

India plans to expand its semiconductor ecosystem under Semicon 2.0 by nurturing 200 chip design startups and training 1 lakh technicians. Announced by IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at SEMICON India 2026, the upgraded mission features an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore.
