Patna Court Grants Interim Relief to Khan Sir, Rejects Bail for Gyan Bindu Director

PATNA: In a significant development, the court of Principal District Judge Rupesh Deo on Tuesday granted interim relief from arrest to Faizal Khan alias Khan Sir, the director of Khan Global Studies, in connection with a case involving attempt to murder and the illegal use of weapons. The court stayed his arrest until June 20, 2026, which is the next date of hearing.

Conversely, the regular bail plea of Roshan Anand, the director of Gyan Bindu Coaching, was rejected by a separate court in a related assault matter.

During the hearing for Faizal Khan, his defense counsel, advocate Arvind Kumar Mauar, maintained his client’s innocence and prayed for anticipatory bail. While Public Prosecutor Rajesh Kumar opposed the bail plea, the court directed the police to submit the case diary and the criminal history, if any, of the accused to reach a final decision on the anticipatory bail application.

Furthermore, the court directed Khan to cooperate with the police investigation and present himself whenever summoned by the investigators.

The Kadamkuan police had registered First Information Report (FIR) number 418/2026 against Khan Sir and his two security personnel on June 4, 2026, under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. The action was initiated based on a viral video showing firing near the coaching institute.

Gyan Bindu Director’s Bail Plea Rejected
In a separate development on Tuesday, the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Anurag Verma rejected the regular bail petition of Gyan Bindu Coaching Director Roshan Anand. Anand is accused of assaulting a security guard employed at Khan Global Studies.

The judicial magistrate court had reserved its order on Monday after hearing arguments from both sides. The accused face allegations of physically assaulting and injuring the security guard.

The police had arrested Roshan Anand, along with Abhishek Kumar and Gaurav Kumar, and sent them to jail on June 3. Following the incident, an FIR (case number 410/2026) was registered at the Kadamkuan police station on June 3 under relevant sections of the BNS, based on a complaint lodged by an employee of Khan Global Studies.

Hearing on Security Guards’ Bail Today
The regular bail pleas of Khan Sir’s two jailed security guards, Pradeep Kumar and Talebar Singh, who are also co-accused in the attempt to murder and Arms Act case, will be heard on Wednesday in the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Anurag Verma.

On June 7, defense counsel Arvind Kumar Mauar argued for their bail. After hearing both sides, the court had reserved its order and directed the police to produce the case diary along with the serialized evidence collected. The court subsequently fixed June 10 as the next date for the hearing.
